Quick Story Line
Moments after returning to New York City with MJ, J. Jonah Jameson of “TheDailyBugle.net” broadcasts doctored footage of the London incident in which Quentin Beck frames Spider-Man for the drone attack and his death, exposing Spider-Man’s secret identity to the world, much to Parker’s shock. Followed by the media, he takes MJ to a bridge where he tries to digest the moment with Ned. A media frenzy and a police investigation started.
Matt Murdock manages to get the charges against him lifted. However, the revelations severely disrupt his life and lead to all his and his friends’ college applications, including their applications to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, being rejected. He decides to go to Doctor Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum, asking him to cast a global spell throughout the Multiverse to make people forget he is Spider-Man. Wong warns him of the consequences, yet Strange pays no heed and casts the spell which Peter damages, leading five enemies of other Spider-Men in their universes such as Dr. Otto Octavius, Green Goblin, Electro, the Lizard, and Sandman to arrive at the main universe.
On Queensboro Bridge, Parker tries to convince an MIT administrator to accept Ned’s and MJ’s applications. Octavius arrives and attacks the bridge using his tentacles, leading to a battle, in which Octavius realizes that this Parker isn’t the one that he knows. Spider-Man, with the help of Ned, MJ, and the Sandman who has also come through, later fights and captures Electro. Upon seeing Electro vanish and learning that this Peter Parker is different, the Sandman suddenly distrusts Parker, but he is fortunately captured as he begins to attack.
Norman Osborn, the real identity of the Goblin, is retrieved after going to a F.E.A.S.T. building seeking help. Strange wants to send the quintet, including the Lizard who he captured off-screen, back to their respective universes. However, Parker wants to cure and help them before sending them back in order to prevent their deaths. He frees them and confines Strange in the Mirror Dimension after a fight, taking the quintet to Happy’s apartment.
